The Munich herbaria and botanical garden, which are linked the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), will be hosting the XIII International Aroid Conference from Monday 27 to Wednesday 29 July 2020.

2020 is an important year for aroids, marking the century after the completion of Adolf Engler's treatment of the family in the ‘Pflanzenreich’, and it was during his years as a herbarium curator in Munich (1871-1878) that Engler's early work was carried out. The institutions jointly hosting the 2020 meeting are continuing the tradition of aroid studies, and the aroid collections of the Munich Botanical Garden and herbaria are renowned world-wide for their breadth of coverage.

Indication of interest and preliminary conference enquiries may be sent to xiiiinteraroidmunich@gmail.com or renner@lmu.de.
